Tracing Red Revolutionary Heritage and Witnessing the Achievements of Rural Revitalization
Macao, Aug 3, 2026 – To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March and promote the enduring spirit of the Long March, while fostering a stronger sense of national identity among young people, the Wynn Care Foundation, with the support of the Jiangxi Chinese Overseas Friendship Association, organized the “Commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Red Army’s Long March Victory — 2026 Macao and Taiwanese Youth Study Tour to Jiangxi” from July 26 to 30, 2026.
The delegation visited Nanchang, Jinggangshan, Xiushui, and Pingxiang, where they participated in red culture study programs, youth exchange activities, and rural revitalization visits. Centered on retracing China’s revolutionary heritage and reflecting on the spirit of perseverance, the tour combined exchanges among youth from Jiangxi, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and firsthand exposure to rural revitalization initiatives. Through these activities, participants gained a deeper understanding of China's history, culture, and development achievements, further strengthening their sense of national identity and patriotism.
The delegation was led by Ms. Linda Chen, Standing Committee Member of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the CPPCC (Macao Region); President of the Wynn Care Foundation; and President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited. The 28-member delegation comprised representatives from the Youth Committee of the Macau Chamber of Commerce, the Macau Leisure Tourism Services Innovation Association, the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, Wynn’s emerging young leaders, and some youths from Taiwan currently working in Macao.
Through immersive visits to revolutionary heritage sites, traditional cultural landmarks, and rural development projects, the program encouraged participants to draw inspiration from the nation’s development journey and strengthen their commitment to contributing to society. The tour also aimed to empower young people to serve as bridges for exchange and cooperation, fostering deeper connections between Macao and the mainland while contributing youthful energy to the country’s continued development.
The first stop of the tour was the De’an Yimen Chen Cultural Park, a site dedicated to preserving a nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage. Participants gained insights into traditional Chinese values including loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, righteousness, mutual support, and devotion to the nation. They also attended the opening ceremony of the 11th Jiangxi-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Exchange Program, themed “Remembering the Long March Together, Embracing the Future with Youthful Energy.” During the event, youth representatives from Jiangxi, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan exchanged perspectives on youth development and their responsibilities in the new era. These interactions further deepened participants’ understanding of national affairs, strengthened their appreciation of the country’s development, and fostered greater unity and shared aspirations among young people across the four regions.
The delegation then travelled to Xiushui County to attend the Completion and Handover Ceremony of the Soy Products Processing Factory in Zhanfang Village of Xiushui County, together with the Launch Ceremony for the First Direct Shipment of Xigang Tofu to Macao. The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Qiu Xiuhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xiushui County Committee and Deputy County Magistrate. Representatives from the Xigang Town Government introduced the project’s development journey, operational scale, and future plans. During the ceremony, Ms. Linda Chen presented a commemorative donation plaque to Mr. Che Li, Deputy County Magistrate of Xiushui County, marking the commencement of the factory’s operations. Following the ceremony, guests toured the production facility to gain a firsthand understanding of its standardized manufacturing processes and sampled a range of specialty soy products. The visit highlighted the tangible achievements of Jiangxi-Macao collaboration in supporting distinctive rural industries and advancing rural revitalization initiatives.
The Soy Products Processing Factory in Zhanfang Village of Xiushui County is a flagship rural revitalization initiative supported by the Wynn Care Foundation. The commencement of the factory’s operations marks the successful entry of the region’s intangible cultural heritage product, Xigang Fried Tofu, into the Macao market. The unique product is now available in all Nam Yue Group supermarkets, establishing a stable channel for the direct supply of specialty products from Jiangxi to Macao. The project has not only injected new momentum into rural economic development in Xiushui County, but also leverages Macao’s unique strengths as an important platform for the country’s opening-up. By fostering resource sharing and industrial collaboration between Jiangxi and Macao, the initiative has helped create a new model of cooperation characterized by industrial development, cultural revitalization, improved livelihoods, and mutual prosperity. It serves as a practical example of supporting China’s rural revitalization strategy while contributing to high-quality development.
The delegation then travelled to Pingxiang, where members trekked across the alpine meadows of Wugong Mountain and enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of China’s natural landscapes, gaining a deeper appreciation of the country’s rich cultural heritage and enduring civilization.
For the final leg of the study tour, the delegation visited Jinggangshan, the cradle of the Chinese Revolution. Participants toured key revolutionary sites including Huangyangjie Outpost, Wulongtan, the Beishan Martyrs Cemetery, the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, and Mao Zedong’s Former Residence in Ciping. Through these visits, they gained a deeper understanding of China’s revolutionary history, paid tribute to the sacrifices of revolutionary martyrs, and reflected on the perseverance and ideals that shaped the Long March. The experience also deepened their appreciation of the enduring significance of the Jinggangshan Spirit and the Long March spirit, and how these values continue to inspire dedication, resilience, and patriotism among younger generations.
Participants shared that the study tour had not only deepened their understanding of China’s revolutionary history and traditional culture, but also strengthened their appreciation of the responsibilities entrusted to the younger generation in the new era. They expressed a commitment to transforming what they had learned and experienced into motivation for future growth, carrying forward the spirit of the Long March, sharing China’s stories with confidence, and fostering a stronger sense of national identity and patriotism. Looking ahead, they hope to align their personal aspirations with the country’s development, contribute their talents and energy to the nation’s modernization and rejuvenation, and to do so with resolute passion, responsibility, and commitment.
